Creamy Miso Garlic Dressing - or - The Best Thing I Ever Ate

This dressing. Oh my goodness. This dressing.
A dressing by any other name would taste as...sweet?
Okay, so this isn't a sweet dressing, it's not a dessert, and it's certainly not a rose.
I mentioned via AtV's Facebook Page that I'd place this Dressing in the exclusive category of:
"Best Thing I Ever Ate".
Why? For starters, it reminds me of one of my very favorite non-raw salad dressings (that I used to eat ALL of the time): Annie's Goddess Dressing. If you took Annie's and crossed it with a creamy/garlicky Alfredo Sauce...you would have this amazing creation.
I like to make up silly songs all of the time, in my kitchen, in my car, on the sofa, in public places...I don't have much shame when it comes to being silly. If I wrote a song about this dressing I probably wouldn't be able to get past: "It's sooo goooooooooood..." before I continued spooning copious amounts into my mouth.
If you make one AtV dressing or sauce recipe let it be THIS one.
I beg you.
Use it as a dip for chips, crackers, or veggies.
Spread it onto a sandwich.
Mix it into your favorite kind of Pasta.
Pour it all over your Salad.
You won't be able to stop yourself!!!
Creamy Miso Garlic Dressing or Sauce
Yield approximately 2 cups - but you can easily half this recipe for a smaller batch
1 & 3/4 cups AtV Sour Cream
2 Tbsp Mellow White Miso (found in the refrigerated section of your grocery store)
2 Tbsp Date Paste
1 Tbsp Onion Powder
2 tsp Lemon Juice
1 tsp Mustard Seed powder
1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tsp minced/pressed Garlic
1 tsp minced Shallot (this is optional, but ridiculously good)
Black Pepper to taste
1/4 c Water
In a small mixing bowl combine all of the above and proceed to mix/whisk all of the above together until smooth and creamy...
Find a private corner in your house and proceed to spoon this dressing into your mouth while heaving deep heavy sighs...or enjoy it over a truly decadent Sprouted Salad:
Gourmet Sprouted Lentil Salad
Recipe for this decadent salad coming up this Friday!

I'm feeling very accomplished with this special recipe, so I though I'd share with you all one of my current favorite songs and bands (a sort of celebratory tune about personal awesomeness):
I recently discovered Busman's Holiday via my lovely Sister RahRah (her affectionate nickname), and I am so grateful!! I always welcome any kind of creative happy music to join my kitchen-playlist, but they tip the charts for me in just about every aspect of song. I hope their acoustic mini-symphonic tunes make you just has happy as they make me.
I'll be tapping my toes to their album this evening while I hang out in the kitchen making a special top secret Cheezecake recipe.

xoxo,
Sarahfae - AtV

  7. I haven't had the chance to try the dressing yet, but you still have me convinced of it's awesomeness so I included it in my Gluten Free Vegetarian Roundup this week.

I'm eagerly awaiting this sprouted lentil salad too!

  8. Just tried your creamy miso garlic dressing on a salad of sprouted adzukis, diced zucchini and fresh basil and it was amazing! We used it on a regular green salad the other night and my 6 year old daughter said," Mom, I could drink this stuff!" (she is normally very picky) I have loved all of the recipes of yours I have tried. Thank you for sharing them!
